Job Description
As our Senior Sustainability Officer your will develop, maintain, and implement the Shire’s Sustainability Framework and oversee the development and implementation of the Sustainability Action Plan. You will provide technical advice and guidance to all service areas to foster a culture of sustainable best practice and integrate sustainability into strategic plans and projects. You will support sustainability initiatives including sourcing funding, liaising with community stakeholders, and reporting on sustainability targets and objectives.
Your passionate and professional attitude will ensure you build constructive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, engaging the business and community in sustainable objectives for the future.

Base annual salary $80,000 per annum dependent on skills, experience, and qualifications
Annual leave loading of 17.5%

To be considered for this role you will be able to demonstrate:
Behaviour that positively demonstrates the Shire’s HEART of: Honesty, Empathy, Accountability, Respect and Teamwork
Experience and/or qualifications in Environmental Science, Environmental Management or Sustainable Development
Well-developed oral and written communication skills
Experience in local government or other multidisciplinary regulatory environments
Strong project management skills and experience
Experience in preparing successful grant applications
Strong research, analytical and report writing skills.
Experience with climate change, sustainability and/or coastal management in a Local or State Government context will be highly regarded.
